I’ve spent my career in the environments where leadership matters most — public safety, crisis response, and emergency management. And after every major incident, I saw the same gap:
Non-government organizations were left on their own to navigate preparedness, response, and recovery — with no dedicated support and no unified system.
Businesses, schools, manufacturers, nonprofits, real-estate groups — all facing complex risks, but without an emergency manager on staff and without access to coordinated recovery leadership.
Contractors worked in silos.
Insurance followed its own timeline.
And organizations struggled through the most critical stages with no structure, no guidance, and no continuity plan.
ReadyPoint Strategies was built to change that.
As one of the Midwest’s first Emergency Management General Contractor (EMGC) firms, ReadyPoint delivers 360° emergency management services designed specifically for the private, nonprofit, and education sectors.
Our model is simple:
Provide the planning, training, response support, recovery coordination, and continuity leadership organizations need — without requiring a full-time emergency management department.
We bridge the gap between response and full operational recovery, coordinating:
The result: organizations get back to normal operations faster, safer, and with far less stress.
ReadyPoint Strategies — full-spectrum emergency management for the organizations that keep our communities running.
A bridge between the local Emergency Manager and the needs of a community.
A partner for businesses and organizations. A lifeline for local EMA's.
A coordinator when it matters most.

Meet the Founder — Shena Kohler
Born and raised in southern Wisconsin, Shena Kohler built ReadyPoint Strategies on the values that define the Midwest: hard work, integrity, accountability, and showing up when it matters most.
With nearly two decades of experience in law enforcement and emergency management, Shena brings a rare combination of crisis leadership, disaster coordination, and business continuity expertise to the private sector. She has led multi-agency emergency operations, supported complex recovery efforts, and advised organizations across Wisconsin on preparedness, resilience, and operational restoration.
A graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security, Shena has worked alongside Wisconsin Emergency Management, FEMA, and public-safety partners throughout the region. Through these experiences, she built a national network of trusted recovery, continuity, and emergency management professionals now supporting ReadyPoint’s coast-to-coast capabilities.
Today, Shena is redefining emergency management for non-government organizations, delivering the public-safety precision, experience, and coordination they need when it matters most.
